Golden Gloves Provincial Championships - Got what we came for, plus a little more

I went into this tournament confident. After all the work we put in throughout the year,  the countless rounds in the ring, the lessons learned, and the experience gained competing across the border; I knew I could handle whatever stood in front of me.

And handle business is exactly what we did.

I successfully defended my provincial champion title with two solid performances that showcased strength, skill, and the work that went into preparing for this moment. We came in with a goal, and we got the job done.

But the biggest surprise was walking away with the Female Athlete of the Year Award!

What an honour. What a moment of recognition!

It was a reminder that people are always watching. The work we put in behind the scenes, the way we carry ourselves, and the effort we make to show up for others; it all matters. You never know who is paying attention, and sometimes the impact of your actions reaches further than you realize.

This award may have my name on it, but I didn’t get here alone.

To everyone in my corner, day in and day out: thank you. To my coaches, training partners, supporters, and everyone who has encouraged me along the way, you’ve helped shape me into the athlete I am today. Every round, every lesson, every push when I needed it; it all played a part in getting us here.

This one’s for all of us. We did this!

Provincial champion, Female Athlete of the Year, and now it’s on to the next challenge.
